Free from the light
there is a stillness,
that soaks through me,
the rain cold enough
to set me shivering.
Into the storm
my mind wanders,
dazed with dreams of
daybreak.
On the pyre of my
childhood I place my
selfishness
and pray that it burns
irredemably to ash.
And life should be more than an
endless war against
sleep...
I crave the satisfaction
of creation.
